"Morning Glory" 2 Stars

While Morning Glory starts off as a sack of worthless jargon, the delightful Rachel McAdams turns up the charm and lays off the Ritalin. However stay clear of this one in theaters and pick it up on DVD.

"The Ruins" 3 Stars

Utterly gross. That basically sums up "The Ruins." This movie will make you feel sea sick even if you are on land. You might even elect to brush your teeth after you stop puking. Combining a creepy crawler monster with a spooky jungle locale "The Ruins" is a must see flick. It came out a few years ago so while its not still in theaters it's definitely worth watching on DVD.

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 1" 3 1/2 Stars

By far the greatest Potter film to date this installment brings all the right bits together: cinematography, music score, acting and scenery. The result is a thrilling 2 and a half hour epic film that will please even the most fickle fans of the book.

'Collateral' - 2004  If you are unfamiliar with 'Collateral' , here is a quick recap/review (with minimal spoilers).  Tom Cruise portrays Vincent, a hitman with a bunch of targets to knock off. The cold and calculated Vincent contrasts perfectly with Jamie Foxx's Oscar nominated turn as Max Durocher, a gregarious cab driver. Boom goes the dirty bomb (Now on DVD) 4 Stars Blog Exclusive! What if you had only minutes to live? What would you think, feel and do in that short amount of time? Well Jake Gyllenhaal (Brothers) knows he has to make every second count in order to save the city of Chicago from a terrorist attack just 8 minutes in the future. As Jake finds out in "Source Code" anything is possible except failure. Army helicopter pilot Col. Colter Stevens (Gyllenhaal) awakens aboard a Chicago bound train with no memory of how he got there. Feeling confused Stevens rushes into a bathroom and looks in the mirror. What he sees is terrifying. He realizes that he’s inside somebody else's body, but before he digests this information a bomb rips through the train as easily as a knife cuts through butter. Queue it up: "Indie Game: The Movie" (2012)

Small budget, big heart Blog exclusive! In this new monthly series I will be highlighting movies and TV shows of note that you can instantly stream on Netflix. Hey button mashers! Glad I got your attention -- after all "Call of Duty: Black Ops II" has probably been your #1 priority this month. However, I think you'll like what I'm about to tell you. But, if not please don't teabag me... Netflix, the online video streaming service, recently recommended some documentaries to me. "Indie Game: The Movie" was high up on the recommendations list so I gave it a shot.
